Community Champions and Volunteering

We develop community champions by taking an apprenticeship approach which means that volunteers develop their skills, knowledge and confidence whilst also giving back in their families and communities.

We promote volunteering because when people participate in community and volunteering activities, their reported health improves and they become more aware of how they can take responsibility for maintaining it themselves.

Annually, we work with over 60 volunteers to co-deliver a number of activities including

befriending, health guides, weight management, healthy eating, gardening therapy, keeping active, staying safe at home, patient support, men’s health and mental health anti-stigma campaigns. Other volunteering opportunities include reception, administration, caretaking and communications and marketing.

Volunteers are always welcome!
