Friends of the Bridge

In order to build from the community capacity and involvement that was developed by the Bridge New Deal for Communities, the Bridge has a network of links with Friends of the Bridge. This is a mutual support and self-help group that includes:

  • Local residents who are representative on the management or advisory boards of key NDC capital projects. These include: the Triangle Children’s Centre Management Board, St Ann’s
  • Library Hall Management Group and Helston Court Community Growers.
  • Local residents who are representative on patient, planning and service user groups.
  • People who have volunteered with the Trust.
  • People who have used Trust services.

The Friends are supported by the Community Partnerships Manager with the aim of ensuring that local people can bring their perspective and influence to the development of excellent health and wellbeing services in Tottenham, including our own. Friends of the Bridge are independent local people who do not represent the Bridge Renewal Trust or its views.

Specific support includes:

  • Personal development support.
  • Meeting space and secretariat support.
  • Information, advice and signposting on the mechanisms and opportunities to influence planning and provision.

In return, Friends of the Bridge provide a sounding board for the Bridge to develop its services, strategy and policy decisions they also feedback key local intelligence to the Trust.
