Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 pa + 6% pension (pro rata)
Employment type:  Initial fixed term (9 months),
Hours: 14 hours per week
Location:  North London

Do you have a proven track record in recruiting and training people from diverse communities into peer support programmes? Do you have the skills to co-ordinate and provide development support to volunteers, taking the lead in promoting the befriending service, and developing/maintaining a good working relationship with various partner agencies and funders?

We are currently recruiting a Befriending Service Co-ordinator to Develop and deliver a high-quality, safe and sustainable befriending service for vulnerable elderly adults in Haringey who are experiencing loneliness and isolation in order to promote their independence, health and wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who is: self-organised and effective at co-ordinating others, with budget planning and team-working skills. Able to: recruit people, design and deliver training; skilled at facilitating, coaching and mentoring; knowledgeable about health and wellbeing and conversant with a wide range of communications tools to promote opportunities to the whole community: visit, assess and prepare service users for their involvement in the service: to match service users with befrienders according to clear guidelines and ensure that participants in the project are adequately safeguarded.
