Volunteers are needed to help maintain a local community centre. You will assist with day to day tasks including painting and decorating, First line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, e.g. tightening screws on window hinges, general DIY projects e.g. putting up shelves, window cleaning, setting up rooms for meetings and events etc.

If you are physically fit, over 18 years of age and looking for something with flexible hours then this might be the right role for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to raise awareness of our organisation within the local community.  They should enjoy partnership and development work; have an approachable and friendly ability to work; using own initiative.  The role will include: advertising and publicising activities, liaising with local press and radio, dealing with appeals for funds and attracting donors and sponsors

Flexible working hours to suit, however the PR and Marketing volunteer reports to annual quarterly meetings which takes place in the evenings.

Volunteers are needed to be part of the Home from Hospital Service team to provide practical and emotional support to older people who are about to be or have recently been discharged from hospital for a period of up to 4 weeks. This will include visiting clients in their own home. This is a new role, and if interested, you will be able start as soon as possible.

The volunteer brokerage works with voluntary and community organisations who want to involve volunteers and match individuals to suitable volunteering roles.

The post holder will work alongside the volunteer brokerage co-ordinator, supporting the day to day volunteer brokerage service by responding promptly to volunteer  enquiries, Inviting applicants to interview, requesting and chasing references etc.

You will be responsible for designing and co facilitating a weekly pottery basics group with service users from Haringey Recovery Service and you will inspire clients to work on personal creative projects.

Help tackle loneliness and social exclusion, especially among older people, by befriending local people through communication over the phone.

Do you have patience and basic home computer skills? Why not share those skills and get involved with a rewarding and exciting project – Coffee & Computers. You will be helping others to gain basic computer skills and connect with the digital world.

You don’t need to be an IT expert, just familiar with everyday use of computers to find useful information and services.   You’ll welcome learners to friendly sessions in community venues in Wood Green, Tottenham, Crouch End or Hornsey, assisting the Coffee & Computers session leader.

Kith and Kids

We need volunteers to support children & adults with learning disabilities to overcome social exclusion, develop skills and have lots of fun!

Our weekend clubs and Monday evening socials also allows our members to develop key skills and relationships in a fun, friendly and safe setting that is individually centred to their needs. Workshops include music therapy, drama, arts & crafts, sports & games and much more. We even enjoy trips out! Recently groups have attended swimming, museums, crazy golf and bowling.

We are looking for some new volunteers to join in with our Employment & Life Skills Project (ELSP) and help adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to access further education, work experience and visits to mainstream community opportunities.  ELSP takes place on a Monday and a Friday from 10am to 3pm, term-time.

Earlham Primary School

We are a 2 form entry school based in Wood Green, London.

We are looking for a group of passionate individuals who would like to make a real difference to the lives of our children.

Ideally we would like up to 15 readers who could come in every day for half an hour to listen to children read. Some children need additional support and this would greatly help accelerate their progress and access the curriculum more easily. Some have English as an additional language and need lots of practice to improve. Your help would be an amazing contribution to our school.

You would need a DBS check to ensure you are suitable to work with children. The school would pay for this provided you are willing to commit to us for a minimum of 6 months. If you are looking for experience for future prospects we are happy to assist but would ask you to pay for your own DBS as the reduced fee for volunteers is not available if you will benefit from the experience in the future. We understand our volunteers travel and may not be available every week.

Wellside Kids

At Holy Trinity Church, we’re looking for committed individuals who can contribute to The Wellside project by helping with our after school clubs for children and young people.

Ideally, we’d like someone to assist between 3 & 5.30pm on Wednesdays and between 4 & 6pm on Fridays during term times.

However, if you’re only able to offer time for one of these, please let us know.

We also require attendance twice a term at planning and training meetings.
